Shipping Associate

Job Purpose: 

Facilitate the timely packaging, processing and shipping of customer orders domestically and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pick / Pull finished good items with a high level of accuracy.
  • Pre-package manufactured items so they are ready to ship to a customer.
  • Have a strong attention to detail to prevent errors during pre-packaging process.
  • Use company systems to update order status and to invoice orders when ready.
  • Generate necessary documents for domestic and International shipments using various reporting systems.
  • Complete export documents as needed for each specific international destination.
  • Compile data and submit export information with government agency ACE when required.
  • Follow proper process to ship international orders in compliance with regulatory concerns.
  • Package and ship customer orders per procedure for ambient, cold and dry ice shipments.
  • Accurately stock incoming inventory and upload into system.
  • Properly manage inventory stock of finished good items and shipping materials.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts monthly
  • Communicate directly with other departments via email daily to provide updates on order status.
  • Provide reports as needed in maintaining department metrics.
  • Review orders status continually and ship all possible orders to maintain a high on time ship rate

Required Qualifications / Skills:

  • High School Degree;
  • Typically, 2 years or more professional working experience.
  • Must have good computer skills with previous work experience in MS Office; Outlook and Excel.
  • Proficient typing skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the talent for teamwork
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Highly Desired Qualifications

  • International shipping and process with filling with government agencies / A.C.E.
  • Knowledge regulatory issues related to International shipping.
  • Inventory management and/ or inventory cycle count;
  • Familiarity with dangerous goods shipping as well as dry ice packaging requirements

Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  • Duties of this job are regularly performed indoors, with occasional work done out of doors.
  • Work is in office environment to include cubicles and/or in and around shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, storage locations and laboratory environments.
  • This position is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, reach and pull with hands and arms.
  • Associate is required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Depending on area of building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, safety gloves, and safety glasses.
