Role and Responsibilities
As the BD Manager, you will be part of the in-field BD team and will sell products within the East region to clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostic, clinical laboratory and academic areas.
The position is responsible for identification, pursuit and generation of leads from new clients as well as expansion of the revenue with Horizon’s existing client base in the assigned territory. The BD Manager will balance the pursuit of new clients with the management of existing clients on a daily basis.
Selling is garnered by building relationships with potential customers and providing expertise and exceptional customer service to accounts.
Drive the customer sales process for the assigned product line for sales opportunities in the territory through customer facing visits, presentations, phone and e-mail as appropriate.
Prospect for new customers (Pharmaceutical ,CRO, Biotechnology, Diagnostic, Research Centres, Hospitals, SMEs, Clinical Labs, Academia) on a routine basis in the defined territory.
Work along with the Global Head of BD to establish/execute a territory sales plan that supports the goals of the business line.
Engage constructively with existing customers to maintain and expand the business.
Provide quotations, answer product questions and close the sales process with the customer.
Work collaboratively within the Inside Sales, Strategic Alliances, Product Management and Marketing teams to meet and exceed Commercial goals.
Utilize the CRM database to input and provide information that will increase sales effectiveness, provide transparency on the account, and allow accurate revenue forecasts.
Attend tradeshows and networking events
Utilize technical expertise and expanding customer relationships to identify area of new product/services opportunities.

Ability to travel within the territory 40-50% of the time
