Scientist - High Throughput Screening

Due to the growth of our High Throughput Screening Platform that runs 7 days a week, we require two experienced scientists to join our newly formed team.  


  • Execution of high through-put screening, using many cellular and high throughput techniques including: mammalian cell culture, cellular viability assays, and lab information management systems (LIMS). 
  • Perform work using micro fluid-handling robotic equipment and fluorescent or luminescent plate readers.
  • Data QC and analysis
  • Maintenance of multiple mammalian tissue culture cell lines
  • Day to day maintenance of automation equipment
  • Processing, recording, and reporting all data generated in a precise and organized manner

Responsible for detailed tasks under minimal supervision from Senior Scientist or above
May direct work of more junior scientists.  


  • Extensive experience in mammalian cell culture with excellent aseptic technique
  • Compound dose response and cellular viability assays
  • Ability to work independently and multitask, contributing to experimental design and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work at pace, manage a high workload and work under pressure in an environment with frequently changing priorities
  • Flexibility, adaptability, independence and ability to work in a matrix-managed environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A source of advice for peers
  • A careful and meticulous nature with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills


  • Demonstrated ability to work in a BL-2 environment
  • High through-put screening
  • Knowledge of combination science
  • Knowledge of lab information management systems (LIMS), liquid handling robotic equipment and fluorescent or luminescent plate readers
  • Data QC and analysis.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Biotechnology or Biological discipline) with 3+ years experience in a laboratory setting
  • Or entry level PhD
  • Or equivalent experience (e.g. many years’ experience in a biotechnology setting)
  • Industry experience preferred.

This is a lab-based role and candidates should be highly self-motivated, able to work to tight timelines and be comfortable working under pressure in an environment with shifting priorities. Note that this position will require flexible working to cover 7 day operations.

You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team environment and on multiple projects with constantly changing priorities and deadlines, be well organized, self-motivated and have excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
